7 Star Therapeutic Riding Center, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, provides equine assisted therapy to those with physical, mental and emotional needs. Our highly trained instructors and mental health professionals are certified through PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) and/or Eagala (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association).
7 Star serves clients with many types of disabilities including: ADHD-ADD, autism, Down’s Syndrome, CP, MS, MR, MD, Traumatic Brain Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, amputees, Rhett Syndrome, visually and hearing impaired, etc. We also serve veterans experiencing a range of physical and psychological disabilities.
Equine-assisted therapy provides an alternative form of therapy that cannot be obtained through conventional therapy. The gait of the horse mimics that of a human. Through the motion of the horse, clients develop core muscle strength, and stimulation of brain patterns, which improves balance and coordination. Clients learn to concentrate and focus on riding, which helps with sequencing, and learning to follow oral instructions.
To enhance the lives of individuals through equine-assisted therapy.
To facilitate healing of the mind, body, and spirit through the grace and strength of the horse.
